Samsung Ghana launches Galaxy A series onto Ghanaian market


Electronics giant, Samsung has introduced onto the Ghanaian market the latest addition to its galaxy family, the Galaxy A Series.

The company, known for top of the range devices – the Galaxy S series and the Galaxy Note series – unveiled the latest addition at an impressive event in Accra last Friday.
Galaxy A series, which comes in two variants - Galaxy A3 and the Galaxy A5 –packs the latest in technology when it comes to smartphones.


Harry Park, Managing Director of Samsung Electronics West Africa speaking at the unveiling ceremony, said the Galaxy A series is a full metal unibody smartphone which is slim and built to match the lifestyle of its users.

He said the company is inspired by the fact that, “mobile phones have become integral part of everyday life and therefore will enhance and complement that same lifestyle.”
“The Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3 are built to suit the needs of consumers who want to enhance their social networking lives by capturing and sharing every moment while staying connected. The Galaxy A Series are devices for self-expression and fit the unique lifestyle of consumers,” Mr Park said.

He added that, “We are offering consumers more value by forming solid partnerships with renowned brands like Vodafone and Adidas and many more offers through our Gift App.”

The Galaxy A3 runs on an android 4.4(KitKat) and comes with a 8MP AF with LED Flash rear light, 4.5?qHD Super AMOLED display, 1.2GHz Quad-Core Processor,16GB internal memory + micro SD slot(up to 64GB) 1GB RAM, weighs 110.3g, and has a dimension of 130.1×65.5×6.9mm.

The Galaxy A5, on the other hand, has a 13MP AF with LED flash rear camera, 5.0?HD Super AMOLED display, 1.2GHz Quad-Core Processor, 16GB internal memory + micro SD slot (up to 64GB) 2GB RAM, weighs 123g, has a dimension of 139.3×69.7×6.7mm,and also runs on an android KitKat (4.4) operating software.

In terms of connectivity, both phones come with a 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, 4.0(BLE, ANT+) bluetooth, NFC (LTE version only), and an A-GPS/GLONASS.
